NASA is offering live coverage of an upcoming spacewalk conducted by two cosmonauts from Roscosmos outside the International Space Station. The spacewalk, scheduled for Thursday, June 22, is aimed at upgrading the station and retrieving equipment.
The coverage will commence at 9:45 a.m. EDT and can be accessed through NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website. The spacewalk itself is expected to begin around 10:20 a.m. and could last up to seven hours.
During the mission, Expedition 69 cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin will venture outside the station’s Poisk airlock. Their primary tasks will involve retrieving various experiment packages and installing communications equipment.
This Roscosmos spacewalk holds significance for Prokopyev, as it marks his seventh such endeavor. He will be wearing the Orlan spacesuit adorned with red stripes. Petelin, on the other hand, will partake in his fifth spacewalk and will be donning the spacesuit featuring blue stripes.
